The Lord’s Prayer, given in Jesus Christ’s Sermon on the Mount, offers strength and counsel to millions of people from all different walks of life. On “LILY Pod,” we dive deep into how this prayer can support a mid-single in their journey.
“Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed by thy name. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever, amen.”
The Serenity Prayer is also well known and used often, although we don’t really know who wrote it and their are many different versions. This is the one we used to explore it’s own special application to mid-single life.
“God, grand me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time. . . trusting that He will make all things right, if I surrender to His will. by following this spiritual pathway, we will find hope, we will feel peace, and we will experience joy again.”
As we approach the Christmas season, we hope you will take time to ponder how to more fully rely on the Lord. May these two prayers take hold in your heart to give you peace and purposeful direction.
